before i do the problem i visualize it in my head first/ i think its easier this way because when you put it on paper you can see what you did wrong.

Self-Talk (Ch. 4)
swaquie152009:
1. Do math everyday… doing something daily no matter what it is, is a great way to get better at it.
2. Time management… knowing when to study and when not to study is a big part of an college class.
3. Good note taking… if you don’t have good notes and you want to look back on them for studying there is no point to even taking nots.
4. Going to class… by this i don’t actually...

Writing down notes. I need organized notes to help me solve the problem
Sit near the front of the classroom. This will help me pay more attention in class.

THINGS THAT HELP ME WITH LEARNING:
TAKING GOOD NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTING THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT SUCH AS FORMULAS OR TERMS.
NOTE CARDS ARE ALSO A GOOD IDEA BECAUSE U CAN USE THEM AS FLASH CARDS BEFORE THE TEST.
REWRITING NOTES OR THINGS THAT ARE METIONED IN CLASS PRIOR TO THE TEST ARE IMPORTANT SINCE U ARE MORE LIKELY TO...

Putting it all together
One of the techniques that will be most effective when I take my next exam will probably take the advice of writing my own practice test. that way i can make problems that i need extra practice with. i will probably not take the practice test before the chapter since i will be planning to make my own.
Exam Analysis
EXAM #1
THE ONLY THING I DID FOR THIS EXAM WAS LOOK OVER MY NOTES AND STAY UP ON MY HOMEWORK.
FOR THE NEXT EXAM I WILL PROBABLY MAKE NOTE CARDS WITH THE RULES ON ONE SIDE AN EXAMPLES OF THE RULE ON THE OTHER.
THE CONCEPTS DEMONSTRATED MOSTLY IN THIS EXAM WAS THE ORDER OF OPERATION.
THE CONCEPT I NEED TO WORK ON THE MOST WOULD ACTUALLY BE SOMETHING EASY LIKE SHOWING ALL MY WORK. I HAVE A HABIT...

HOW YOUR BRAIN REMEMBERS MATH
THE MORE YOU PRACTICE THE EASIER IT IS FOR YOUR MEMORY TO RECALL WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED- IF YOU DO NOT REVIEW, YOU FORGET WHAT YOU STUDIED.
IT ALSO TAUGHT THE PROPER WAY TO MAKE NOTE CARDS. AND HOW TO HAVE A DEFINITION ON ONE SIDE AND EXAMPLE ON THE OTHER.

Finding Professor Right
I think a few good qualities that a teacher should have are:
1. Really caring about how they lecture and making sure the students understand.
2. Making sure that the assignments go along with the topics not just any random questions.
3.Being available for students to ask questions and make appointments for tutoring.
What makes math so hard?
The biggest problem I come across in math is learning and remembering all the different rules. There is so many and you have to keep up on your notes and review, review, review. Keeping organized helps with remembering too. i noticed that if i write the definitions in my own words i remember them for a longer period of time. i have a tendancy to cram for tests but usually do pretty well. but this...

My study habbits do not exists. I take notes and never look at them agian. Have reviews and I never do them. I will procrastinate until the night before and day of a test or exam and CRAM like I have never before. I do this because i love hate studying. In the end I dont think any of the things will matter.

I would like to think that I have learned great study skills. I have had quite a few classes where having a good notebook and taking good notes was a major part of my grade. I like to be organized, gives me a good feeling knowing where everything is in my lil notebook! i am somewhat of a neat freak so it doesnt bother me much to work hard on my notes because it pays off in the end.
